There are different administrative bodies with different powers of decision-making in European schools (http://www.eursc.eu/en/).
Under the leadership of the Secretary General of the European Schools, the Admin Board (Administrative Board) discusses the daily problems, discusses all school administrative and management matters, and plans the budget and commitment. The school development plan is presented accordingly and also discussed.
The Admin Board at the ESK meets twice a year. In addition to the Secretary General, it consists of the school management plus representatives of the teachers from the various sections, administration, pupils and parents as well as representatives of the commission and representatives of the JRC.
It is actually the most important body for the school, as the parents are directly represented. It offers them the opportunity to get in direct contact with the Secretary General.
