What we do
The Members of the Committee represent parents’ interests in all areas connected with the school.
PA committee members represent parents on the Educational Council, the Administration Board and other Working Groups created to deal with various issues of the school. They are also responsible for communicating to parents the reports of meetings so that parents are kept fully aware of the progress and development of the school. The full Committee meets once a month and some members also attend school meetings 4 or 5 times a year.
In what ways has the PA influenced the school community?
- The PA runs the extra-curricular activities open to all children in the school.
- PA follows the progress of the Transport Committee and Canteen Committee and supports all efforts to improve and maintain the smooth running of the services: Transport committee and canteen committee
- The PA financially sponsors a number of fund-raising events including the Model European Council (MEC), the European Kangaroo Maths Competition, the European Science Symposium, Primary School Choir Festival, ESKAdO, Multivision, the final year Abiball, and EuroSport.
- The Parents’ Association also hosts the Christmas Reception for all parents and children after the annual Christmas concert and the popular annual Summer Fete every year.
- The Parents’ Association supports and encourages parent initiatives such as the OUTREACH Initiative which hosts coffee mornings and offers practical help for all new parents to Karlsruhe.
- The Parents’ Association Organises the non-profit making Euroboutique and sells gifts and t-shirts supporting the school logo.
The parent class representatives
Parent class representatives play a very import role in the smooth running of the school. The parent class reps are chosen by you, the parents, and they are the first people to contact if parents experience any problems in the school or classroom. Class reps also coordinate all class social activites, class fund-raising events such as coffee and cake stalls and generally provide help and support to class teachers if required.
Parent class reps are also responsible for communicating information to and from the parents in their class to the PA committee section representatives so that the PA can effectively represent parents interests in all school meetings with teachers and administration staff.
