STUDENT REPORTERS NEEDED FOR EUROSPORT 2009
STUDENT REPORTERS NEEDED FOR EUROSPORT 2009
20.02.2009
EUROSPORT is being organised this year at the European School, Karlsruhe on 19-21 March 2009. The ESK Parents Association knows that EUROSPORT is one of the major inter-European school events, like the Science Symposium and model EU Council, which make up the fabric of a European education which enhances the sense of school community and encompasses the ideals embodied by the European Schools and is determined to play our role towards ensuring this. One of the ways was to support the creation of a EUROSPORT website in order to facilitate interaction between students, promote inter-European school spirit and add a little healthy competitive spice to the games.
Thanks to TACoffice Marketing the EUROSPORT website www.ur-o-sport.eu is now live. It not only has practical information on the schedule and location of events, and on what happened in past competitions - it will soon have information about the team members, their sporting strengths and later will include real-time transmission, photos, running commentary and results as they come in. Former pupils are welcome to send in their memories of EuroSport. In this way, our whole school community can follow EuroSport from afar for the first time.
We are looking for a group of students from each shool to be on-line Reporters for their EUROSPORT team. They should provide the website with information featuring their team such as photos, short interviews with sports teachers, team captain, fellow pupils, etc. so that everyone can be involved and support their team. Interested students should contact the sports teacher coordinating EUROSPORT immediately and decide together who the Student Reporter coordinator will be and get in touch with us at evesk@eskar.org.
Through INTERPARENTS, the umbrella organisation of all the European Schools’ Parents’ Associations, we have ask the individual school’ Parents’ Associations to sponsor a representative of their Student Reporters to continue their journalistic work by accompanying the school team to Karlsruhe to report back on back to their school on how well their team is doing.
It’s going to be a fantastic week, don’t miss out! Come watch the EUROSPORT 2009 on-line or on Finals Day held at the school on Saturday 21 March and celebrate being part of the European school community, build a strong network of friendships and promote fair sportsmanship.
