The bowling event to raise money for the people of Haiti - a huge success

Dear Parents,

The bowling event on Wednesday to raise money for the people of Haiti was a huge success. The students had a great time with a wonderful atmosphere throughout the event and most importantly we are raising a large amount of money as a result. When we receive all the money collected by the bowlers from their sponsors we expect to have over €9000! This is a fantastic sum for a school of our size and reflects the strength of feeling for the plight of the people of Haiti as well as the power of our school community when it works together on a project.

After the fun now comes the real work. We are collecting the money already. The deadline is Friday 26th February - it has to happen quickly or we lose momentum. Parents can help us in three ways:

1. Encourage any children who took part in the bowling event to collect the money as soon as possible. Every bowler that brings their sponsor money gets a free game voucher from Lago Bowling for use in a holiday.

2. Remind any children who have sponsored others to take some small change to school so they can pay up efficiently.

3. Ensure the bowlers collect all the money due and either bring it to us when complete - we will be in the entrance to C-Block every break, every day - or, if you would prefer, transfer it to the dedicated account:

We would like to thank the children for responding so positively to the challenge and representing our school so well at the bowling alley. In order to stop this sounding like an Oscar acceptance speech we would just like to thank the many other people who helped to make the day go so well (I'd also like to thank my Mum, agent, etc....).

We had the most fantastic reception from Lago Bowling. They treated us like royalty and we cannot imagine having a better experience as a guest in somebody else's hands. A big thank you is due to them.
