Report by Ana Gorey, Vice-President, ESK PA
Please note, these are not official minutes

Mr. Hoyem, welcomed everyone to the School Advisory Council (SAC) meeting and said that, unlike other schools, ESK had used this transitionary year of the Reform to use the SAC to consult the wider school community as well as those officially designated to the SAC. He reminded everyone that the role of the SAC was to contribute towards the school development plan and to set clear priorities for the Administrative Board. The next meeting would be more formal and would finalise recommendations for the November Administrative Board.

Frau Pavlicikova welcomed everyone to the meeting.

The agenda for the meeting was adopted.

The minutes from the last meeting were accepted.

Frau Pavlicikova gave a brief up-date on the philosophy that is at the fore-front of early education principles. These principles include the need for children to be aware of the community that they are part of and how to interact positively to their environment. The European Commission is also supporting this which reflects the school reforms that many European countries are taking, by setting new guidelines for ES in primary education. The key competencies should include...

Class 1 OS Music project for September
Frau Heger was invited to address the committee with an up-date of the music wind instrument project that is going ahead for class 1 OS students in September. Mr Da Torre welcomed everyone to the meeting and asked for the agenda to be approved. Although a small point still had to be clarified, it was approved.

School Photos
The teachers were not happy with the way that the school photos were handled last year and requested that another system be found. The PA reported that there had been discussions with the photographer, and that he has been asked to deal with the parents directly, in the transfer of payment and the release of photograph codes. If this does not work this September, then the PA will reconsider their future involvement with the whole matter.

The Open Day was very successful this year. There were many interesting projects organized for both primary and secondary. The PA helped finance several projects this year and the outcome was great! The weather was fantastic and everybody had a good time.
The PA presented their new Euroboutique collection and it was very well received by students, parents and teachers. Our sponsoring partner, Intersport Hoffmann, was also present with waveboards and roller-blades and the students were taught how to ride them by professional instructors. In addition, they offered 20 free tickets for the BG Karlsruhe Basketball final game that same...

Cindy van Velzen welcomed everyone to the meeting and the agenda was adopted. She introduced a round table for all present to give feed back from the various working groups and activities.

After-school activities
All the AA accounts have been checked and are in order, but the actual final list of courses that have taken place is still incomplete and there are still course fees outstanding. Due to the extensive choice of courses this year, the organisation of these activities has been enormous and it was suggested that more parents volunteer to help out in the busiest stages.
There was one specific area of concern...
